Re-familiarise yourself with the following terms from previous lessons
  • Denotation - what is in front of you
  • Connotation - what you bring to the analysis
  • Mise-en-scene - anything seen by the camera, can describe technical terms about lighting, angles, shot, focusing
  • Colours - remember colours can have meanings
  • Layout - how the elements are arranged on the page
  • Audience - the main group the advert is aimed at

Task

Start your analysis of you print based advert look at your previous work and the previous lessons to remind you what to include.
You should aim to spend 2 hours on this first analysis.
